THIRD-PARTY CERTIFICATIONS

Ensight is uniquely positioned to help organizations navigate today’s increased scrutiny on social responsibility, integrate green practices and reduce environmental risk factors. One of the best ways to achieve this is through a third-party certification or registration program. While many such programs exist, Ensight specializes in:

CERTIFICATION FOR BUILDINGS AND TENANTS

BREEAM USA In-Use (BUIU) is a globally recognized green building certification that assesses and certifies existing commercial buildings. It’s a simple yet robust system that roadmaps environmentally responsible practices and continuous improvement.

WHAT IS IT?

BREEAM is the original green rating system with the most certifications worldwide. While it is well-known globally, BREEAM In-Use (BUIU) has just arrived in the US market. It is a flexible yet rigorous framework that can serve the millions of existing buildings in the US that cannot meet the criteria for a LEED EB: O+M rating.

BREEAM provides a scientifically based methodology for continual improvement that is applicable to almost any building type. With no prerequisites or other barriers, an owner or operator can start the simple online environmental assessment methodology right away and gain insight into the current state of their building as well as the improvements needed to achieve a desired level of performance. The program benchmarks performance across nine environmental sections: Management, Health & Wellbeing, Energy, Transport, Water, Materials, Waste, Land Use & Ecology, and Pollution.

BREEAM In-Use is a family of three interrelated rating systems, each with a specific focus:

Part 1: The asset
Part 2: Building operations
Part 3: Tenants or occupiers.

With a separate certification for tenants, any business that wants to green their operations and improve the wellbeing, productivity and satisfaction of their employees, now has a roadmap.

We appreciate the flexibility of BUIU. Tailored for the underserved market of Class B and C buildings, it offers a green building standard to any existing building no matter the size, age or condition.
